Anne Walsh's Fundraiser

Donate to Tupelo Press, my favourite poetry publisher in the U.S., via my poem-a-day fundraiser throughout February!
Help me meet my goal, please give today or any day this month.
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
I've chosen to raise money throughout February for one of my favourite poetry publishers in the world, Tupelo Press in the U.S. I'm doing it because now more than ever we need poetry and the arts to be funded as they are catalysts of empathy and love against negativity and hatred. I know it's a time when so many good causes need our help. Climate change. Bushfires. Fights for human, land, and animal rights and for the protection of democracy. But all of those are voiced in poetry. The poets of Tupelo Press have changed my life and saved it at times when it seemed unsurvivable. Joumana Haddad,Ilya Kaminsky,Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Amaud Jamaul Johnson, Kazim Ali, Annie Finch, CM Burroughs, Anna Rabinowitz are just a few of the writers who have helped me, reached my heart with the CPR of their words when I couldn't get up. Poetry empowers that get-up! I owe poetry. I owe Tupelo . I owe Tupelo's poets. I'm fundraising for Tupelo throughout this month as my"get-up" in the face of all that would have me lie down, just as the poets of this press have taught me. Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write for thirty days this month. One poem each day to support Tupelo Press, whose books have empowered me, made me feel accompanied. I'm doing this project because now more than ever we need the work of publishers like Tupelo Press. We need poetry. Tupelo Press provides the canvas, I bring my words, accompanied by other fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days. All so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise. Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books.
