Hi! Here are 3 great reasons to sponsor me during this 30 day cold weather poem marathon:
1) You (like me) are thrilled that I rediscovered my voice as a writer after having put down the pen for twenty years. You want to support me as I push my poetry to another level.
2) You love books. Unfortunately, we live in a world that does not value or fund art and literature. Tupelo Press needs us!
After the revolution, we'll collectively decide to recognize art as an integral part of the human experience. It will be beautiful. There will be murals in neighborhoods, sculptures in parks, installations in our public transit, poetry projected on sidewalks. Books will be available in playgrounds. We will fund art and literature with public money so that it is accessible to everyone. We will support artists and writers in their work. In the meantime, we must fund literature ourselves so that publishers like Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise. 98% of poetry is published by independent literary publishers because they put their mission over a bottom line.
