Writers write, right?
Support indie press & my writing practice
Your support helps Tupelo Press raise funds to keep publishing writers and gives me vital inspiration as I write for 28 days straight this month. I'm also testing a writing accountability web app that I programmed specifically to maintain my writing practice and share with other writers who'd like to keep a daily writing practice as well.
Whether producing, hosting, editing, or curating, it's easy when you're a writer to spend a lot of time doing a lot of work around writing without specifically writing your own work. This challenge provides the opportunity for me to buckle down and consistently generate new work for this month and rebuild my writing practice for the future. I also took the opportunity to dive back into linking film and poetry.
I've included a video poem for one of the drafts that I've written so far. It was with footage that I shot last year, a Creative Commons soundtrack and sounds from Freesound.org. If you'd like to see more video poems accompany submissions, please donate, and I'll make one for every $100 I reach in donations.
Tupelo Press provides the canvas; I bring my words, accompanied by a cohort of fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 200 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.
Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Please give today!
