I've dedicated a swath of experience to sucking the marrow from life. So much so that, at times, I feel I may end up cradling a dry, hollow bone if I don't do my part in giving something back. During travels to the US I found myself sitting on a blanket beneath the stars while listening to the symphony with an old friend. As strings and brass vibrated in crescendo I could feel my heart expanding; filling with hope after so many months of darkness and uncertainty and isolation. The experience was shared through widened eyes, whispers and applause. While I acknowledged it as a vague notion previously, in that moment, it struck me how vital the arts are as a balm to so many facets of the human condition.

Tupelo Press is just one of many independently-led organizations in support of the Humanities, publishing a range of voices to inspire the world. Akin to running a marathon, as part of the 30/30 project I will be writing thirty poems in thirty days to show my support for their work. I am asking that you, in turn, help support me in reaching this fundraising goal. Every donation, no matter the size, helps the press and gives me encouragement to keep going, to keep creating, to keep giving back.

30/30 poems have been taken by over 200 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise. Every dollar helps this distinguished press place more poems in gorgeous books. Give today!
