$1,070 towards $400

I see this daily challenge as a terrifying and exhilarating jump start to a dormant poetry practice. I would be happy for you to support Tupelo Press in my name, in celebration of the wisdom, fierceness, beauty, and mystery that poetry can offer us.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas; I bring my words, accompanied by a cohort of fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 200 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. I am grateful for your willingness to give, and to read!

Lea Marshall’s work has appeared in The Atlantic, Dance Magazine, Dance Teacher, Linebreak, Unsplendid, Hayden’s Ferry Review, B O D Y, Diode Poetry Journal, Thrush Poetry Journal, Broad Street Magazine, and elsewhere. She is a 2013 Tupelo Press 30/30 Project Alum. Her chapbook, "Write For Me," was published in 2017 by Dancing Girl Press. Lea received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she is also Associate Chair of the Department of Dance & Choreography and faculty liaison for research at the School of the Arts.
