Brooklyn born and bred, Judith Berger is a poet, herbalist, naturalist, physician assistant and author of the book Herbal Rituals, published by St. Martin’s Press. She has been fortunate to count among her poetry teachers A.R. Ammons, Phyllis Janowitz, and Adrienne Rich. Judith has taken workshops with Mark Doty and currently generates work in classes with Hermine Meinhard of the NY Writer’s Workshop. Her poetry is influenced by the natural world, myth, animals, dreams and folk music from prior centuries. She is currently working on a chapbook entitled The Stars are Not Austere.

Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write for thirty days this month.

Tupelo Press provides the parchment; I bring my words, accompanied by other fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 90 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, weaving together my love of language, the natural world, and myth along with common, everyday moments, into the clay vessel of a poem and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Give today!
