Support Poetry

I have completed two other poem-a-day months in my life. "The Great December Poetry Giveaway" in 2016 and "The April Fools Poetry Giveaway" in 2018. As their titles suggest, I have given my poetry away for free. BUT this time, Tupelo Press is offering me a platform from which I might actually raise money for a good cause while I write poems for YOU.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas, I bring my words, accompanied by other fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

My favorite way to write these poems is always to receive reader requests. Message me with five words and a theme or a long diatribe about some poem you wish you could write yourself and what it would be about or just some vague hints. I can work with just about anything. And on those days when I receive no requests, I'll just have to wing it which is also a hell of a lot of fun. If you request a poem, give money. The more complicated your request, the more money you should give. That's the point. Have a request but no money? -- aaaah, all right! Like most poets, I'm kind of a sucker for that kind of thing. (But seriously, give money -- ask your mom, friend, grandma or aunt for money -- tell them how important poetry is.) Have money but no request? -- excellent! Please give money and feel free to enjoy my poems to your heart's content.
