Sharing 30 days in a row of poetry — in public, every day — is a frightening thing. But, it's worth it, to help poetry reach and resonate with a broader audience.
Tupelo Press is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit press that publishes a diverse range of poetry, creative nonfiction, and literary fiction.
In the 30/30 Project, they provide the space for a group of poets every month to share what we create every day for thirty days -- and your donation to Tupelo Press not only helps inspire us as poets to keep going through the month, but also helps the Press keep publishing diverse, beautiful voices.
As for what you'll see from me this month? My poetry, like my prose, my podcast, and like my life more broadly, centers around horse racing. It explores the horses, the life and times and sights and sounds of the racetrack, and the effects they have on us.
Thank you for encouraging me in this ambitious project, and for helping Tupelo Press keep publishing voices that may not otherwise be heard. Please give today!
And, as a special thank you for anyone who donates $15 or more through my page (right here!) in the month of July? I'll write a poem for you. It can be about a horse who is special to you, a race or moment or track or place you love -- please let me know once you donate, because I would be thrilled to help your contribution to the future of poetry also become something tangible and beautiful for you.
