Poet Bio: Of autodidactic ilk, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Jefferson grew up listening to his father's improv limericks and rhymes, jazz, classic rock and on into hip-hop and folk music from Africa and the diaspora and other avant garde music. His writing began as journaling and evolved into poetic forms. He loves language and how it shapes meaning. He works with professionals focusing on the transformative power of language, mindset and inner narrative. Writing and reading has been a key part of maintaining his golden thread. He lives in Southern Oregon with his wife and their infant daughter, who is teaching him to remember what it was like before language.

Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write for thirty days this month.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas, I bring my words, accompanied by other fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 90 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar bolsters my confidence to write and transfers directly into helping the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. A dollar or a dozen, it all helps. Give today!
