Poet Bio: I'm a poet, teacher and instructional designer in Washington, D.C., where I live with my wife and daughter. I have a love of social justice, nature and being goofy with my daughter (and wife and friends).

You may be asking: "So, poet Andrew, what are you doing here?"

And I will answer: Simple! I am supporting Tupelo Press during a 30 poems in 30 days challenge, also known as 30/30. During this 30/30 challenge, I (and other wonderful poets) will be raising money to support this wonderful press, writing a poem a day. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 90 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

For me, poetry is the flower that splits the rock: it opens the hard places and blooms inside them. I encourage you to give the gift of poetry to many others by donating here.

You might be saying: "Ok, but what's in it for me? What do I get?

And I will answer: Stop asking such easy questions! Want to get in on the poetry action? Here are a few ways you can donate below.

Sonnet - One of my most favorite forms of poetry is the sonnet. 14 lines of amazingness can be yours for a donation of $15-$30. Fill out the form here!

Request a Dedicated Poem - Do you want me to write a poem dedicated to someone or something? All you need to do is donate $35-$50, fill out this form where you name your favorite person, flower, blade of grass, pet Big Foot or whatever you wish, and I'll write you a poem dedicated to said person, thing or person-thing!
