Poet Bio: Anita Leverich earned a BA and an MA in creative writing and literature from Kansas State University and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Montana in Missoula. Before coming home to KC, she taught at the National University of Rwanda (1991-93) and at the University of Houston (1993-2003). She's published poems and essays at small literary magazines over the years, online and in print. Recently, she wrote for theThe Kansas City Star as a guest columnist. She now teaches English/Creative Writing at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley in KC in MO. But she lives among the ghosts of her ancestors in KCK.
