I’ve spent my life believing that every person, every landscape, every myth, and every ordinary moment has a poem hidden inside it. Writing and reading poetry have never been hobbies for me—they’ve been a way of paying attention, of making sense of the world, and of connecting with other people.
I’m participating in the Tupelo 30/30 because I want to help ensure those opportunities continue for the next generation of poets and readers. Literature has given me friendship, purpose, and a way of connecting deeply with the world. Supporting the work of independent presses is one small way to give something back.
