I share a birthday with the Irish poet Seamus Heaney, who won the Nobel Prize for poetry in 2013. I was celebrating my birthday and, at the same time, still amid the post-pandemic life. I found myself at odds with myself, and the ordinary things I did to set the world right had come up short. In my feed came a recording of Seamus Heaney's acceptance speech to the Nobel Foundation. On that day, once while washing dishes, I listened to it. Twice. Afterwards, for the first time in ages, I felt sorted and creative flourish ensued that lasted for months. So, I am a believer. Perhaps you are too.
