In my personal writing as well as the writing I do as a Listener Poet with The Good Listening Project, my highest aspiration is to create work that will serve as this kind of illumination. My biggest barrier in reaching this goal has always been my reluctance to *let go* of a piece of writing. I've had so many promising poems languish in my head or in my drafts instead of just getting them done.
With this 30/30 initiative, my aim is to train myself to produce poetry drafts quickly and consistently. In the process, I will be contributing to an independent literary press. At this moment when I often feel that the task of resistance is too big for me, it feels meaningful to help, in a small way, Tupelo Press continue to bring voices to the world that might not otherwise be heard.
