30 poems in 30 days for Tupelo Press
Writing poems is difficult, art is important, give me your hard earned cash.
I'm writing a poem a day in July to raise money for Tupelo Press.
I write poems, you give money. You get to see my embarrassing first drafts.
Read the poems here: https://www.tupelopress.org/30-30-project-page-current-month/
There are also some perks for giving $$, including permission to bully me for $25:
- I'll send updates (at least weekly) to all donors.
- If you donate over $25, you can give me a title or topic and I'll write a poem using it. You can be mean if you like, I'm powered by indignance so it will only make me stronger. Add these as a comment when you donate.
- For poet / writer friends (or strangers) I'm offering feedback on up to 3 poems or 1500 words of prose to donors who give $40 or over.
Despite being a literal poet, I'm not very good at writing about what I do or why it matters. But I'll try:
While there are a lot of important things to do with your money in this time of monsters, art & particularly art that is made & shared independently from large institutions is massively important.
The mixed bag of poems I, personally, produce this month probably won't change the world, but art will & does.
So, give Tupelo Press some $$.
(Also, I'll look like an idiot if no one donates)
