Thirty days of poems, supporting Tupelo Press!
I am a returning poet to Tupelo Press's 30/30 project. I adore and admire Tupelo Press. They publish wonderful poets in beautiful books. Ilya Kaminsky, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Maggie Smith... look at their catalog and see! How does a non-profit press keep bringing urgent and beautiful work into the world? One way is this unique project, which brilliantly (I think,) gives space for poets like me to produce new drafts (in public, yikes,) and inspires each poet's friends, family, and fans to read the poets in my cohort, browse Tupelo Press's titles, and donate to the press, if they can.
Seattle poet and teaching artist Laura Gamache has published in journals and anthologies, including Nixes Mate, Passager Journal 2022, Vermilion Flash Issue #7, Rattle, Altered Syntax, So, Dear Writer, and WA129, as well as her chapbooks, Never Enough and Nothing to Hold Onto. She has worked with students and teachers in classrooms since 1995.
Tupelo Press provides the canvas; I bring my words, accompanied by a cohort of fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 200 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.
Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Give today!
