Jaz is an award-winning published poet, singer, author, playwright, performance poet, actress, and ASCAP member-songwriter from Philadelphia, PA. She holds a BA in Theater from Temple University and an MFA in Creative Writing/Poetry from Goddard College. In addition to being a student at Goddard College, Jaz regularly served as Copy Editor for the school’s literary journal The Pitkin Review, and co-facilitated/taught workshops for the college. Her one-act play “States of Clay” was in the college’s Take Ten Play Festival. Jaz’s poetry is widely published and has been featured in multiple anthologies, literary magazines, and online journals such as The Pitkin Review, Struggle, Literary House Review, APIARY and WestWard Quarterly among others. Her work has also been featured on internet, podcast, and public radio. She spends her days in one of her life’s purposes as a substitute educator for her K-4 students and enjoys learning from them as much as she enjoys teaching them. Jaz loves Jesus, family and adores cats, and karaoke!

Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write for thirty days this month.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas; I bring my words, accompanied by a cohort of fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 200 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Give today!
