Poet Bio: New Jersey native Ysabel Y. Gonzalez, is also known for her performance poetry under the alias Ancestral Poetisa. Ysabel is a Puerto Rican poet and likes to think of her poems as a form of tracing lineage and documenting cultural and family history. Her poems also like to explore the body and how it inherits things we can't help, including trauma. Ysabel received her BA from Rutgers University, an MFA in Poetry from Drew University and works for the Poetry Program at the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. Ysabel has received invitations to attend VONA, Tin House, Ashbery Home School and BOAAT Press workshops. She is also the Program Director for the BOAAT Writing Retreat and has been published or is forthcoming in IMANIMAN: Poets Reflect on Transformative & Transgressive Borders Through Gloria Anzaldúa's Work, Wide Shore, Waxwing Literary Journal, Huizache, Acentos Review, and phati'tude Literary Magazine. It can be a daunting task--breathing life into one new poem each day for thirty days. Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write poems for thirty straight days in December.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas, I bring my words, accompanied by other fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 90 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Here are some rewards I'm providing if you give in my name:
