Most of my life has been navigating the world that is New York City and all of the ideals and values instilled in its upbringing. Currently, I live in Buffalo, with my wife, Selina, and three beautiful daughters, Jaylene, Maya, and Zoey. I am the inaugural Director of Community Standards & Student Advocacy at Daemen College. To the contrary of most aspiring writers, writing was not always a passion of mine, not until my Junior and Senior years of undergrad at Buffalo State. I graduated Buffalo State in 2014, met my now wife towards the end of my undergrad, moved to NYC to work in security at New York Presbyterian Hospital, moved to Buffalo in 2017 to work campus safety and security at Medaille College and, what was then Women and Children’s hospital, respectively, moved back to NYC in 2018 to return to the same job held before, then moved back to Buffalo during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to work as campus safety for Daemen College. During all of those major moves, my wife and I had two more amazing daughters and I received my masters degree from John Jay College.
What I want to address and accomplish in my writing is establishing and normalizing the idea of self-exploration, self-awareness, and purpose. These ideals are difficult to pin down in all adolescents and, still, in most adults. Being open to experiences and the endless possible meanings to each thing and everyone which you experience; one of those being reading this book.

Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write for thirty days this month.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas; I bring my words, accompanied by a cohort of fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 200 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Give today!
