$480 towards $350

Hello! Thank you for visiting my page. I am honored to have been chosen by Tupelo Press to write 30 poems in 30 days. This poetry marathon will raise money so Tupelo Press can publish books by new and emerging writers, including teens, and bring new voices into the literary conversation.

As a result of my experiences around various languages and cultures, I am passionate about providing spaces on the literary landscape for voices that have previously been left out. I have long admired Tupelo Press for its mission to publish exquisite and diverse voices.

If you donate $25 or more and give me five words, I'll write a poem.

Shawna Ervin has an MFA from Rainier Writers Workshop through Pacific Lutheran University in Washington state. She teaches English to high schoolers through Arapahoe Community College, serves as a guest artist and mentor to struggling youth through Art from Ashes, and is a poetry reader for Adroit Journal.

Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write for thirty days this month.
