Support the art of language! Prompt me for a poem!

Help me meet my goal, please give today.

$410 towards $400

I will be writing, and writing away, wondering and exhibiting, fantasizing and exploring together with you, give me your tones, your thoughts, your dreams, I will channel them incongruently towards a waterway that sheds its water...

From the preparations for an upcoming performance piece, Strict Split, through a month of travel into the northeast U.S., Iceland, and Sweden, I will be sharing my experience, coalescing with other's experiences, widely open.

Your support will give me all the inspiration as I write for thirty days this month, one poem a day, one day at a time. Being invited to participate in this project gives me great joy - something so simple in concept bringing people together and exploring the world of language as poetry, sound and symbol...

Tupelo Press provides the canvas, I will bring words, sounds, ideas, as will you, as will these other fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish.

- 30/30 poems have been taken by over 90 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Give today!

Poet Bio: Timothy Adams is a poet, playwright, screenwriter, Aikidoka, and artist living in New Orleans. He has been published in publications with Bottlecap Press & St. Mary Majaks, and frequently works with the latter as part of an art collective in the big easy that publishes a zine, produces plays & short films, installation & performance art, and much, much more. An avid reader and film viewer, he takes his inspiration on a daily basis, from all sources, from literature and poetry as much as the light creeping through the wooden floor of his shotgun house, or a particularly meditative Aikido practice. His work can be found on an (almost) daily basis at Nationtimesyndrome.com, which also houses the work of other artists, writers, and filmmakers from around the country, and information on performances, film screenings & projects can also be found at Majaks.com or at Mary Majak on Facebook.

Author Statement: This project speaks to me on a level I've not known - well, not knowing is not quite right, a conundrum, because of course I've known about it - that being the nature of a daily writing practice, and yet have not connected to something like the 30/30 project before. For at least a year I have practiced with determinism the discipline of daily writing, whether it be poetry, prose, playwriting, screenwriting, or another form I've yet to discover. The finding of this project, and subsequently being invited to participate, is a revelation, in that there is a support for poets and for the act of being consistent, or should I say, the consistent acts of creativity. For myself, I find that there will be shifts and moods over the next month that will be a joy to investigate - the build up to a performance art piece entitled Strict Split, and following that, a trip across states and then continents through June, culminating in an intensive study of the art of Aikido in Sweden. While in some sense, this may be superfluous, it will absolutely inform my writing, and I find that my goal in this project will not only to be spreading the love of poetry and art as a whole, but to be on a journey of self discovery and reflection.
