Brenda Serpick received her MFA in poetry from The New School and is the author of two chapbooks: No Sequence But Luck (3 Sad Tigers Press, 2010) and The Female Skeleton Makes Her Debut (Hophophop Press, 2002). Her current chapbook Feygl, documents her late grandmother's memories of escaping Tsarist Russia and arriving in America - interspersed with their complicated relationships with Feygl's daughter - Brenda's mother. Her poems are forthcoming or have appeared in Free State Review, eccolinguistics, Printer's Devil Review, Spiral Orb, LIT, Lungfull! Magazine, The Germ, and Boog City - among other journals. She currently teaches 12th grade English for Baltimore City Public Schools.
