Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write for thirty days this month.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas; I bring my words, accompanied by a cohort of fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 200 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Give today!

About Me: My fourth book, The Day You Miss Your Exit, was published by Broadstone Books in 2018. Previous books include The Gift That Arrives Broken, winner of the 2010 Autumn House Poetry Prize, judged by Alicia Ostriker; Things That Burn, selected by Mark Strand as the 2004 winner of the Agha Shahid Ali Prize; and The Mythologies of Danger, chosen by Alberto Rios as the winner of the 1998 Bluestem Award. The book also won the Bay Area Book Awards (now the Northern California Book Awards) Poetry Prize.

Several of my poems have been featured on Garrison Keillor’s Writers Almanac as well as in numerous anthologies and journals, including The Iowa Review, Tar River Poetry, Old Dominion Review, Rhino, River Styx, Rattle, and Nimrod. I am a professor emerita of English at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California.
