My poems can make a difference!

Terrence was born in Maine, served in the Marine Corp., and has spent his life working as an engineer in the technology industry in Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Virginia, where he currently resides. Though his birth name is Terrence Lee, he is known by family, coworkers, and friends alike by nicknames of Nick and or Haider.

A latecomer to poetry, having attempted to only a few poems in his life up until eight years ago. Since that time, he has written well over 1,000 poems, mainly writing under the pseudonym of just “Haider,” a name given him by his Muslim followers for his resemblance to a Lion, which it means in Arabic. Though he has never pursued formal publishing of his poems to date, he shared many poems online and created a global following of nearly 50,000 followers on social media.

He has always loved poetry, and one of his fondest memories is his mother reading from Mother Goose Rhymes and other children’s poems when he was a child. He enjoys many great poets, both current and historical, especially the Sufi poets from the Middle East, Persia, and Asia.

He admits he often tried to write poetry, but his attempts seemed forced or contrived. About eight years ago, the words came as poetic whispers in his ear, haunting his thoughts until written them down without judgment or effort. Writing under the penname Haider, he does not consider himself a poet as such but as a scribe of whispers.
