While I grew up on a small farm in rural Illinois, I found myself already participating in a poetic tradition, namely that of the pastoral. I often sang (mainly showtunes) to my teensy flock of sheep, all members of such I'd named, and I learned the quiet necessity of communing with my environment to glean clarity and language.

Much of my present work has moved into investigating the woman identity, dream, and the language of and adjacent to psychiatric disabilities. I also co-host a podcast, Alternaverse, devoted to showcasing emerging and established writers of all walks but with a focus on poets.

Your support makes possible an effort in endurance through word and image.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas, I bring my words, accompanied by other fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 90 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar goes to making possible not simply more of my own poems, but those of Tupelo Press's poets. Give today!
