$991 towards $400

I've been writing poems since I was eight, and I've been a "professional poet" since 2010, when I first made $100 on a poem. Yep, I'm a real big shot. Since then, five of my manuscripts have been published by dope indie small presses, and my poems have appeared in dozens of journals and magazines. I lived and taught in South Korea and Laos, and I'm now a converted South Floridian. Participating in Tupelo's 30/30 has been a goal for years, and it's an honor to continue focusing on my daily writing practice while contributing to the press. Oh yeah, and I'm also the self-proclaimed #americasstrongestpoet.

Like any cold-blooded New Englander, I hate asking for ANYTHING. But in this instance, I've found a loophole. This isn't for me, but for Tupelo Press, which publishes beautiful books with pretty covers and prettier words. But it's still kind of for me, because I get to write and, hopefully, some more people will read my work. In addition to your contributions, I'll make contributions to causes that I support, such as Florida Conservation Coalition, Lola ya Bonobo, IRIS, and RIP Medical Debt (I can't quite "match" contributions, but I'll do my best...just need to win some more $100 poetry prizes...).

Your support gives me vital inspiration as I write for thirty days this month.

In exchange for your donation, I'll read a poem for you and post it to the social media account of your choice. If you're familiar with my work and have requests, then I'll happily read some of my previously published work. If you want a wildcard (because you're just so wild), then I'll read something new.

Tupelo Press provides the canvas, I bring my words, accompanied by other fine poets, writing thirty poems in thirty days for the month of MARCH, all ours to edit and submit as we wish. 30/30 poems have been taken by over 90 journals and featured in over 40 published chapbooks, all so Tupelo Press can keep publishing exquisite and diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise.

Every dollar gives me confidence to write more, and helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Give today!
