Shannon Austin holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Her work has appeared in various journals, including Drunk Monkeys, Rust + Moth, Kissing Dynamite, and American Chordata. Recently, she was selected as a semi-finalist for the Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry, and her poem "Dollhood" will be included in the Awards 42 issue of Nimrod Journal. She currently lives and works in Baltimore, MD.

For me, the 30/30 Project is not only an opportunity to challenge myself and take chances in my writing, but it provides a way to connect with others through a shared love of language. Especially now, we understand the impact of poetry as a vehicle for self-expression, activism, and human experience. I deeply admire the work being published by Tupelo Press and its advocacy for the reading and appreciation of poetry. I look forward to sharing my words and becoming part of this wonderful community of writers.

During this month, my fellow poets and I will write thirty poems in thirty days to help Tupelo Press continue to support and publish diverse voices that might never be heard otherwise. Every dollar gives me the inspiration to write more, and it helps the press place more poems in gorgeous books. Help me to help this distinguished press. Give today!
